Peachy Canyon Winery Concrete Blanc 2013, Pasa Robles, California
A wonderful rich, complex Viognier from California.
Light notes of white peach, orange blossom, apricot, and lemon-poppyseed dominate on the nose. Flavors of passion fruit, hibiscus tea, and stone fruits are supported by a juicy viscosity, fresh acidity, and a full, round structure that carries the wine into a long and luscious finish.
After a whole cluster pressing, the 2013 Viognier was 40% fermented in concrete tanks and 60% in neutral French Oak barrels. After fermentation, 100% of the wine was racked to neutral French Oak barrels, where it aged for 6 months.
Grapes come from the Melange du Rhone Vineyard located in the Templeton Gap.
