Koyle Costa Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Chile
This coastal white wine offers an intense nose of powered ginger, honeysuckle and white peach, with a touch of lemon, that leads the way for lemon verbena, salted butter and thyme flavor notes. It is pure and nicely delineated.
Since the founding of Koyle, the family's goal has been to find the ideal terroir for each one of the varieties. The vineyards are located nine kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. The terroir is yellow granite with quartz stones, and different slope exposures to the elements. Paredones is such a unique place that it inspired the winemaker to create this new wine. The vineyards have three different exposures: north, south and a flat area and harvesting is conducted in three different lots on different days. Each lot is vinified in different materials: burgundy barrels, concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks. After 12 month working over the fine lees, the result is that the aromas, balance and minerality of this unique place is expressed in the bottle.
